Stamping 411

I found a new sketch site. Well at least it is new to me. It is called Stamping 411. I love that they share the dimensions of each layer of the card. I changed the layers a bit to fit the paper and ribbon I wanted to use. I recently bought this paper. It isn't normally what I like but I am trying to expand to use colors I wouldn't normally use.

Week 106

It is time for another Nuts About Sketch. These photos are of my daughter and son at s summer training. My kids are part of an jr Navy program called Sea Cadets. The base is Basis Red 12 x 12 which is a perfect match with Distress Ink Barn Door. I matted the photos with Indigo Blue Skinny Column. I used White Ruche for the white boxes. Silk Silver Lustre is used for the star border and the title. You can get the papers at Paper Temptress.

MIA

Hi,
Just letting you know that I have had a crazy week. I created a couple cards but they are not worth photographing and sharing. I have been dealing with Asthma problems due to the strange weather in CA. I hope to get to creating soon. I do have a couple scrapbook pages done and will have them on Monday and Tuesday.
God bless,
Anita

Patchworks card

OWH' s mid week challenge this week is to great a male and female card. I saw the idea to make "quilts" using paper scraps. I used a square punch than glued the squares onto white or black card stock.

Pamper Yourself

This first card is from an older sketch on 365 cards challenge. I created the flower using a tutorial from Tami. I changed colors and I forgot to spritz with water. I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to rub on the flower and on the card base. This fits the Blossom challenge on Ranger Yahoo group.
This second card fits Day 49 on 365 cards. Jellybean Pop Tones is the green on this card. I used a set that I haven't used in a long time. I like how this card came together. There She Goes challenge this week was to make pleats.

Here is Day 47. I used Tailor Made Simply Scrappin kit from SU to create this card.
This card is for Day 48. The base is SU Whisper White. The rest is all from the SU Tailor Made Simply Scrappin Kit. The stamp is from 4 squares from SU.http://365cards.blogspot.com/2010/04/day-48-white-space.html
This is for Day 46 on 365 cards. I saw this idea of cutting squares and gluing them onto a piece of white or black card stock. I cut it out using a rectangular nestabillity. The flowers are from my stash.
I had a blast completing all these cards. I will reuse these sketches. All of these cards are going to Operation Write Home. If you have a couple extra cards, why not mail them to Operation Write Home. They are a group that sends blank cards and Hero cards (cards with a note for the soldiers).

God Bless,
Anita

Spring Flowers

This cute image is from Phindy's Place. The Phindy challenge is open. This means you can create anything as long as it has a Phindy image.
The DP is Fun in the Sun from DCVW. The flowers are ribbon from Michael's dollar bin. The image was colored with SU markers. I added Distress Stickles to the grass and dirt.

This card is for Day 44. The DP is Fun in the Sun by DCVW. The smile is part of the goodies that i won from Hogs & Sketches. I just added glitter to the word.

Tie Dye

Melanie showed how she created a tie dye effect using Nana's Needlework stamp set. You can see her project here. The first card was my first attempt with reinkers and water spread on a craft sheet. I like the effect but not quite tie dye. I tried again using Circle Circus from SU and SU markers. I love how this came out.

Bugs

Catch the Bug Challenge was to use a bug on your card. I couldn't decide so I created 2. The top one has been embossed with clear embossing powder. I just pressed my versamark pad on the image after coloring then embossed. The second card fits Stamp Tv's Blast from the past challenge to use glitter and the layout is from Scrappy Sunday on the Catch the Bug Challenge blog. The butterfly bear has Butterflies & Birds DP by DCVW. The ladybug card has DP from Fun in the Sun by DCVW. The rest of the papers are from my scrap pile.

Thanks

Gretchen has this fantastic sketch. The base is Whisper White SU. Cottage Wall DP is matted with Razzleberry cardstock. I used shimmer silver paint for the dots on the corners. The stamp set is Picnic Parade.

Easter Basket

Ok, I know you are thinking Easter has been over for a while now. I just forgot to share this basket that I made for my Chiropractors office. The basket is from Micheal's. The flowers are digital images from Fred She Said store. I printed them on Sparkle Blanc Text weight and Heavy Duty Vellum. If you click on the pictures, you can see some sparkle. It was hard to take a picture of the sparkle that shows through on the paper. It fits Fred She Said Challenge to create something springy.

Beauty Shop

Sorry this post is late. I had hope to take a better picture but the sun isn't corroporating with me. I stamped the flower all over the page in Distress Ink Barn Door. It is a perfect match to the Basis Red. I used a 12 x 12 sheet of Basis Red for this page. White Linen was used on the journal boxes and title. The flowers are from Dance stamp set from There She Goes. You can find the paper at Paper Temptress. The DP is Basic Grey not sure the exact title. The flowers were stamped and colored with Distress Inks. The layout is from Nuts about Sketches.

Scrap Cards

These cards use mainly parts from a retired Stampin Up Simply Scrappin Kit. I added some dots of Silver Shimmer paint. I turn a paint brush upside down to get my circles. It adds just a perfect touch. The challenge for the flower card is Paper Pals Art challenge to use flowers.

U Rock

Stamp TV's Blast From a Past challenge this week is to use the video Polished Stone background technique. I started with Heavenly White #120. This paper is really thick and smooth. I love it for different techniques. I feel it holds up better than Ranger Glossy paper. I used Brillance reinkers and Silver alcohol ink on the t-shirt. It was a blast creating the paper for the t-shirt. The base is Heavenly White. I matted the DP with Emerald Metallic. The layer behind the t-shirt is Limeade Pop Tones. I used the sketch from Sweet Stop for my card.

The title and journal box are matted with Emerald Metallic. The title has Silk Silver Lustre to add some shine. The sketch is from Nuts Abouts Sketches. These photos are part of my Christmas photos.

Sending my Love

There She Goes challenge this week is a recipe challenge. 3 different colors, 2 differents DP, 1 button & 1 ribbon. I used 2 different DP's for the dp squares. The middle squares mat is a darker shade than the bottom and top squares which is the same as the oval. I am not sure about the bow. It looks off center. The oval needs something just not sure what. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

Yellow Birthday

Sweet n Sassy is having a Digi Day on PCP & SNR. The theme is birthday. If you create a card by midnight EST today, you get 3 free digis. I use a card base that I bought a while back. The flowers, cupcake, and hats were cut out of a Fred She Said Digital Paper.

This is the inside. The saying is SU.
